updated 17th March 2020

In the light of the Prime Ministers address yesterday evening regarding the Coronavirus pandemic and the advice to all UK citizens to avoid unnecessary social gatherings, we feel we need to temporarily cancel all meetings until further notice with immediate effect. This will include Wednesday night bible study, Sunday Services, all children’s activities and youth activities, and all our other meetings with immediate effect.

This may seem like an extreme action to take, but we feel as a church leadership that we have a duty to safeguard both the health and safety of the elderly and vulnerable, in addition to the general church family, including visitors. It is quite likely that, with the government making daily announcements that it won’t be long until these recommendations become mandatory and the UK goes into full quarantine (as we’re seeing in other countries). It is right that we follow government guidelines wherever possible. This hasn’t been an easy decision, and obviously it goes without saying it is a situation we will monitor and keep in review as the weeks progress. Please can you ensure you pass this information on to anyone without access to the internet. Information to follow on what we plan to do moving forwards.

IN the meantime:-
Pray for all those who are sick that they might be healed.
Pray for those who have lost loved ones because of the outbreak.
Pray for wisdom to be given to our Prime Minister, the government and those who make instrumental decisions for the nations good.
Pray for the church that we might have hearts of compassion, and see this as an opportunity to show the love of Jesus to those in need, and that we might have greater opportunities to point people to Jesus.
Pray for those in our emergency services who sacrificially help

those who are unwell.
